Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Gula Labs, LLC ("Gula Labs", "we") collects when you use bryangula.com and our apps (Bitfinder, Otto, ClaudeDeck and Blue Olive) and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what the features need, we don't sell your data, and we don't run ad trackers.

What we collect

Account information. If you create an account (Bitfinder today), we store the email address or username you sign up with, a display name if you choose one, and your passkey's public key. We never see your passkey's private key, and there is no password to store.

Things you do in the app. Bitfinder stores the clips you save, your comments, reactions, votes, playlists, listening progress and the shows you follow so they sync between your devices. Blue Olive will store the bars you add, rate and photograph. This data is the product; it's what you came for.

Newsletter. If you sign up on bryangula.com we store your email address and when you confirmed. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

Payments. Purchases are processed by Apple (in-app) or Stripe (web). They receive your payment details; we never see or store card numbers. We receive a record of what you bought so we can unlock it.

Site analytics. bryangula.com counts its own traffic with first-party analytics, run on our server, with no cookies and no third parties. For each page we record the address of the page, the site that linked you (if any), campaign tags in the link, your browser, operating system, device type, screen width, language and time zone, how long the page was in view, how far you scrolled, and which links and buttons you clicked (never what you type). To count unique visitors without identifying anyone, we combine your IP address and browser with a random value that is replaced every day and then deleted; the IP address itself is never stored, and the result can't be linked across days or back to you.

Technical data. Our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser or device type, time of request) for security and debugging and discard them after 30 days. Apple shares aggregated crash and usage statistics with us only if you've opted in to sharing with developers.

On your device only. Otto's two-factor secrets and ClaudeDeck session data stay on your device, and in your own iCloud Keychain where you enable it. We can't see them.

What we don't do

We don't sell personal information, don't share it with advertisers, and don't use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in our apps or on this site; the site analytics above are our own. The site sets no cookies for visitors; it remembers your light or dark theme in your browser's local storage, and one cookie keeps the site's owner signed in to the admin area.

Who processes data for us

Only service providers that run the product, bound by contracts that limit them to our instructions:

• Hetzner (servers, hosted in Germany)
• Cloudflare (DNS, email routing, network protection)
• Backblaze (media storage)
• Apple and Stripe (payments)
• Resend (transactional email)

We'll also disclose information if the law requires it, or where needed to protect the rights and safety of our users or Gula Labs.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account in the app or email us, and we remove it within 30 days, except billing records we're required to keep for tax and accounting. Newsletter addresses are deleted when you unsubscribe. Server logs rotate after 30 days.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you by emailing bryan@bryangula.com. We answer within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK or California, we handle these requests under the GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA respectively; we don't "sell" or "share" personal information as those laws define it. Our servers are in Germany, so if you're outside the EU your data is transferred there to provide the service.

Children

The Services aren't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We'll post updates here with a new effective date, and tell you in the app or by email about material changes.
